CHOOSING COOL WEATHER CLOTHING: CHECKLIST
Date: 10-05-2022
Cool weather clothing means jackets, coats, long pants, boots, and gloves. We use a lot of these during the warmer months too however there are other factors to consider for you and your team in winter;
-
Comfort
- this is a no-brainer! Choose what is comfortable, not too tight, with breathable materials. The only exception here is for wet weather gear where we need to make sure the rain stays out!
-
Durability
- if you’ve been around the sun more than a few times you’ll know that not all clothing is made to the same quality standards. Make sure the materials are strong and durable.
-
Zips
- make sure the zips are sturdy, and you can grab hold of them properly. Some people with bigger hands and fingers find small zips a pain so test them out or zoom into the images to check.
-
Waterproof
- whenever you can get a jacket or boots with waterproof specs grab them! Even if you don’t work in the rain, this is useful for repelling mist, any specks and flecks of liquid, and especially morning coffee spills!
-
Fit
- If you find the right fit, get two pairs of jackets and pants because when you work hard you don’t want to waste time looking for another pair.
-
Weight
of the jacket - some high quality jackets can get heavy. Make sure you’re ok with the added weight if you need to carry a lot of gear on your belt or in your jacket during your shifts.
-
Movement
- get the right fit so that you can move well without restriction. Looking good on the job comes second to moving with ease.
-
Thickness
- thicker pants and coats will last longer. Go for thicker material if it doesn’t restrict your movement. It’ll also keep you warmer so that you can manage your day without delay.
Lately the weather has been unpredictable so best to get what you need now so you’re not caught short! We can get you sorted. Check the workwear section of the website here and grab your cool weather clothing.
