KING OF THE RIVER SAVED DESPITE COVID THREAT
The Don River Dash 300 is a two day desert race in Bowen, Queensland. Held every year in this small town, this event attracts some of the nation’s fastest dirt bike and buggy drivers, and 2020 saw over 140 bikes and over 60 cars of all categories registered for the 300 kilometre race. However, the Covid-19 pandemic threatened to close the race down and the concerns were high among organisers, competitors, supporters and fans alike. AJP Industrial Supplies chose to support the 2020 event with a sponsorship assisting the safety needs of this massive race; including the traffic cones and high visibility buntings, and thankfully the “King of the River” title was given the green light! Drivers race over two days along the dry river bed of the Don River in Bowen, covering 150 kilometres per day by completing three laps of a 50 kilometre course each day.
Held from 4-6th September, 2020, there was a lot of action for all involved, with two times Dakar champion Toby Price a huge hit for the kids, the event and the general public. This is an event which AJP Industrial Supplies will sponsor each year and we look forward to being part of the growth and excitement as the years progress.
